The Honourable Colonial Treasurer enquired if it was

not necessary to press on with the Shing Hun Schane.

r. Henderson pointed out that it was a matter of polig

and that he had first put forward the Shing un Scheme.

Kr. Hynes and Mr. Beith inquired if the Aberdeen Scheme

would ever be necessary if the Shing Mun Salemo was proceed-

ed with and completed.

The Chainman replied that it would be difficult to say

as it is depondent upon future Kowloon requirements.

Dr. Hynes asked how long it would take to complete the

Shing un Scheme and also if the additional Taitam Catch-

waters could not be proceeded with.

The Chairman pointed out that the catcimators would

not add to a storage capacity and that various sites in the

Taitan Valley were investigated before the Aberdeen Valley

was finally decided upon as being the most desirable one.

Mr. Hynes asked if the Aberdeen Schale would prevent

the further development of it. Cameron.

The Chairman replied in the affinativo as regards

Aberdeen Catchment.

Mr. Mackie considered it would be a mistake to go on

ith the Aberdeen Scheme if it could be avoided.

Mr. Hynes stated that he agreed that if it was found

essential to have another reservoir on the Island, he

considered the Aberdeen Schene the best.

Dr. Kotewall asked how any gallons would be available

from Shing un in 3 years' time if that scheme is proceeded

with.

Mr. Henderson replied that in 4 years double the

quantity would be available.

Dr. Kotowall again enquired as to how any gallons

would be available from the Shing Lun 1st Section plus the

Aberdeen Schane.
